The year 2013 marked the opening of King of the North Dragway & Event Park in Bonfield, Ontario, which is a small community outside of North Bay, Ontario. Spring has sprung, a little late, for turtles in Northern Ontario.  Turtle nesting season typically happens between May - July in Ontario. Sightings are becoming more common, especially on roadsides. The Junction Creek Stewardship Committee issued a new release, urging drivers to keep an eye out for turtles attempting to cross the road.
