The Zen Road

Highway 11 from Nipigon to New Liskeard

This is definitely the route you've never heard about before. If you have, people have probably said things like, "pretty dull" or, "a lot of nothing" and even, "it's just trees and rocks for 800 km." And they might be right. But we prefer to look at this long lonely stretch as the best place in Ontario to get some well-deserved peace of mind. City dwellers who are constantly caught in the crush of human traffic will have a full-dose of monk-like solitude; time to quietly contemplate or just bliss-out in a state of total zen. There's also the bragging rights—this is as far north as Ontario roads go.
