Riding season in Ontario is well underway. Perennial favourites and some great first-time events are making 2013 look to be one of the busiest years for motorcycling in the province. Note: an * indicates an unconfirmed event

17-20, 28th ABC Rally, Aylmer, ON
The Forest City Motorrad Club of Southwestern Ontario will be hosting it's 28th rally at the Springwater Conservation Area. All motorcyclists are welcome to three nights of camping with showers, continuous coffee, campfire and prizes. Friday has a 5pm setup and biker stew (contribute a can). Saturday has a dice run (win a motorcycle jacket), followed by an evening barbecue and entertainment. Sunday you can tour Elgin County and go on a wine tour. Monday is cleanup and farewells. 18, Kawartha Bikers Church Bike Blessing, Peterborough, ON
Starting at 10:15am at 1000 Fairbairn St. the KBC will host the largest bike blessing followed by a BBQ.

19, Ride For Hunger, Belleville, ON
Starting at 11:00, the annual event will take place at the Market Square behind City Hall with coffee & snacks, music, an introduction to the ride & route and then an official send off for the ride. Kick stands up at noon to begin a tour of the county and then back to the square by 1:30 for BBQ and live music. The afternoon will include vendors, silent auction, 50/50 draw and a major door prize. 24, 25, The Forbidden Ride, Perth County, ON
The 5th Annual Forbidden Ride promises to be another fun and busy weekend for the whole family. Featuring Saturday Afternoon's ride visiting at least 5 towns in beautiful Perth County. The weekend also includes Show and Shine, live music, great local food with a full course BBQ meal. There will also be a 50/50 draw, raffle, prize giveaways and lots more. A portion of proceeds will go to the Monkton Lions Club Fishing and Outdoors Camp for Kids.

 25, Huronia Ride For Dad, Orillia ON
Sponsored by O.P.P.A., Barrie Harley Davidson, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, Gamma, Scotia Bank, Stephan, Horsehoe Resort, and Laclie Pharmacy. The ride will start at the Orillia Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 at 215 Mississauga Street East.
Registration: From 7am to 9am. The motorcycles go out at 10am. $30 per rider; the first 500 get a free lunch ticket and a goody bag. Bring in a minimum of $100 in pledges and your ride is free; every $200 raised gives you a chance to win one of three Harley Davidson gift cards valued up to $5000. The 7th annual charity poker run in support of Grandview Children's Foundation will take place at the Bull Dog Pub. Open to all riders and all makes and models. Includes live entertainment, raffles, 50/50 draw and show & shine.

The Boozefighters Chapter 77 5th Annual Spring Poker Run will take place at Billy T's Tap & Grill. All money raised will be donated to 11 year old Brianna Rowe for special needs equipment.

25, Ride For Dad, Kingston, ON
The Kingston-Quinte chapter of the highly successful annual ride against prostate cancer has been busy planning and improving the ride for 2013. They have negotiated the use of civilian blockers for minor intersections during the parade through the city of Kingston. 25, Friend of Youth Ride, Burford, ON
The 6th annual ride starts with breakfast from 9:00am to 10:30am. It will be followed by a scenic ride until noon and end up at the Burford Optimist Park for a BBQ lunch, prizes and a kids bicycle rodeo.

 26, The B.A.D. Ride, Vaughan, ON
Returning once again to the AMC Complex on Interchange Way, the starting point for the Bikers Against Despair ride for the last 10 years, the annual event will depart from Dave and Buster's at 9:45am. Weaving together the best roads in York and Durham regions in an all new pattern, the ride will include favourites like the Holland Marsh as well as new treasures you'll want to revisit on your own. Renew your love of riding in the picturesque back roads of Southern Ontario. Enjoy a mid-ride break at the Belvedere Cookhouse then wind into the Markham Fairgrounds for an afternoon of partying. Registered riders get breakfast, BBQ lunch, limited edition 16th year t-shirt and bandana and minimum of one draw ticket for the Grand Prize.

A group motorcycle ride through scenic Haldimand County beginning at Baldwin's Cycle. Funds raised will go towards the DHHF's Endowmnet Fund to ensure the future vitality of healthcare in the community.

This year the Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers Chapter 003, Mississauga presents the Show & Shine at Montana's Cookhouse. The event begins at 10am and runs until 2pm with prizes, 50/50 draw, food and vendors.
 
26, Ride for Dad, London, ON
Last year's event saw 256 riders raise over $44,000 for prostate cancer research and awareness. This year the first 400 riders get a free meal ticket and gift. Lots of great prizes and fun to be had.

Last year's participants, 800+ riders, dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors raised over $53,000 for the fight against prostate cancer. Funds from the 9th annual fundraiser will go directly to Windsor & Essex's Regional Comprehensive Men's Health Program. Kick-off event on April 25th at the Walkerville Brewery.

June 2013 Cruiser Events

1, Algoma Ride For Austism, Sault Sainte Marie, ON
Sponsored by Sotbies Family Restaurant, the ride begins at Strathclair Field. The ride ends with food, raffles, and prizes. Proceeds go to children with Autism. 
Registration: Begins at 10am and the motorcycles go out at 11am. The ride fee is $20 rider and $5 for the passenger. 
 
The 9th annual fundraiser for children with special needs begins at the Brantford & District Civic Centre with registration, live blues music, coffee and light breakfast. Ride departs at 11:00am for a scenic tour through city and country settings including a ride by the Children's Centre where riders will be greeted by a roaring crowd of cheering kids. Arrive back at the Civic Centre by 12:30pm for a celebration, BBQ lunch, live music, door prizes and tropy presentation for various categories. 1, Ride For Dad, Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON
Last year over 200 riders raised more than $25,000 for the fight against prostate cancer. This year takes off from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #124 at 9:00am sharp. The ride ends at 3:30pm at Club Italia in Niagara Falls. All participants recieve spaghetti dinner at the end of the ride. Lots of great prizes to be won. On April 24th there will be a BBQ kickoff launch from 11am to 2pm at 110 James Street, St. Catherines.

1, Ride For Dad, Kitchener, ON
Last year the dedicated volunteers and riders of the Grand River area braved the bad weather and raised over $134,000 for the fight against prostate cancer. This year the parade leaves from Sportsworld Crossing at 9:00am sharp.

The Ottawa branch of Ride for Dad are back at it again this year to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer.

1, Springwater Lions Club Poker Run, Minesing, ON
Beginning at the Simcoe County Museum with a pancake breakfast, the ride with support Camp Dorset. Also includes lunch. For more information contact (705)739-1517.

This pre-planned route, which leaves from 395 Mulock Drive, Newmarket Town Offices,  includes three check points where playing cards are drawn. The winning poker hand pays $500 and the second place hand wins $250. There will also be a 50/50 draw; silent auction and extra prizes drawn. BBQ and refreshments are included in the registration (poker hand) fee.

The scenic 2 hour poker run starts at Hospice Simcoe, 336 Penetanguishene Road. The ride ends in Barrie with prizes to be awarded and food for purchase. All proceeds go towards Hospice Simcoe. Hospice Simcoe comforts and empowers those living with life-threatening illness and bereavement. All riders, makes and models welcome. This is a rain or shine event. 2, National Memorial Ride, Ottawa, ON
The annual event includes a morning ride to Ottawa, the CAV War Museum Ride, Lunch at 1330hrs and then the National Memorial Ride and service. 
 
2, Ride 4 Paws, Erin, ON
A poker run in support of the Upper Credit Humane Society. The ride will depart from the Humane Society at noon and return to the Busholme Inn for a cash bar, 50/50 draw, lunch, raffle prizes and top fundraiser prize. Meet at the Formula Kartway at 9:30am to start the day off right with a  morning ride departing at 10am sharp. Then back to the Kartway for 2pm with a Bike Wash going on until 5pm. There will be plenty of great music, food and prizes. During the event there will be a special on Go-Kart Laps: 20 Laps for $20.

8, Ride for Dad, Port Perry, ON 
The Durham Chapter of the annual motorcycle ride fighting against prostate cancer will take place at the Scugog Community and Recreation Centre. The ride leaves at 9:30am sharp. Entry includes a meal and a chance to win lots of great prizes including one of three Harley-Davidson gift cards valued up to $5000. 
Registration: $30 per rider. Free for anyone collecting $100 or more in pledges. Open from 7:00-9:15am. Pre-registration on Friday June 7th from 5:00-8:00pm. 
 
8, Ride For Dad, Oakville, ON
Starting and finishing at the Canadian Auto Workers Local 707, Galaxy Hall, the ride will be approximately 180km of great country roads. Lunch will be served at the end of the ride at around 2:00pm. Including celebrity guests and lots of great prizes. 
Registration: $30 per Rider or Passenger who wishes to get  a raffle ticket, meal and gift (if they just want to go for the ride it will be free). Free for anyone raising $100 or more in pledges. All bikes welcome to help raise money for Port Cares and their fight against poverty. 8, Elliot Lake Motorcycle Rally, Elliot Lake, ON
After the success of last year's inaugural event a date has been set for this year. Taking place at the Sears Plaza Parking lot across from the Legion from 9am to 4pm, the day will include a short and a long poker run with great prizes, live classic rock band, BBQ and other fun things to do througout the day. 9, Yellow Ribbon Ride, Borden, ON
Sponsored by the Base Borden Motorcycle Club, the 100km ride will start at Canadian Forces Base Borden and end with a BBQ at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lisle. Proceeds will go to the Yellow Ribbon Fund.

A fundraising event for a state of the art medical facility contributing to better quality of life through wellness programs, including a network of community based services. Meeting at Vaughan City hall for a light breakfast, the ride will depart at 10:00 covering over 160km of scenic roads throughout Southwestern York Region with several planned stops. Ending with an after-ride BBQ including raffle, prizes and entertainment.

Online fundraising is already open for Central Ontario's most anticipated motorcycle fundraiser of the summer.  Ride for Sight will be taking place again in 2013 at Tudhope Park. In it's previous 34 years, this event has raised over $19 million in funds towards research, treatment and ultimately finding a cure for blindness.

Formerly known as the Prostate Cancer Motorcycle Ride for Dad, the Northern Cancer Foundation hosts this annual fundraiser for local prostate cancer research. Departing from the Northeast Cancer Centre, the ride travels through Greater Sudbury for 120 kilometres- rain or shine. The ride concludes with a free BBQ, live entertainment and awards presentation.

15, Hot Ride Show & Shine, Oakville, ON
The Stolen Souls welcome all makes and models to this show & shine, poker run and BBQ for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Halton. Meet at Philthy Mcnasty's in Oakville. Prizes for best poker hands. 
Registration: $40 for ride, $20 for poker run. Begins at 8:30am with ride departing at 10:00am. 
 
21-23, The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally, Belleville, ON
A legendary event of absurb proportions, the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally pits 100 low-cc scooter riders, paired into teams, against a long distance ride through Ontario's countryside. There are prizes for the wildest costumes, silliest behaviour (pics or it didn't happen) and of course, who finished the course first. We'd recommend a route for this, but something tells us you'll be too tired to ride it. Not for the faint of heart, but definitely for the adventurous spirit.
 
This event is for motorcycle enthusiasts to come together and reach a common goal of bringing awareness to Lupus. The ride begins at the event's sponsor Wow Wing House at 601 Dundas St. West. The day will end with a BBQ, live bands, draws, vendors and more.

A guided poker run starting and ending at Rocky's Harley-Davidson. Includes BBQ, prizes, 50/50 draw and a $175 prize for highest hand and $75 for the low hand. Leaving from the Blue Water Curling Club at 10am, the ride will visit 5 stops in Grey-Bruce. Lunch will be served at Thomboys courtesy of Knights of Columbus. 22, Muskoka Charity Ride, Bracebridge, ON
A full day of riding over some of the most scenic roads in Canada starting in Bracebridge and passing through the nostalgic towns and hotspots of Muskoka. Lunch will be served at The Cottage Waterfront Grill in Huntsville. The ride will end up at Patterson Kaye Lodge on Lake Muskoka where riders can unwind by the lake. The poker run offers 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of $350, $250 and $150 respectively as well as other cards for $10 or 3 cards for $20. There will be $100 gas vouchers for the rider who travels the furthest and the rider who raises most in pledges. Proceeds will go to help fight Diabetes.

22, UFCW Ride for a Cure, Mississauga, ON
Enjoy a truly enjoyable ride through some of Ontario's most beautiful country roads, raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. 23, 2013 Bobcaygeon Bikefest, Bobcaygeon, ON
The 3rd Annual Bikefest is the get away destination for this summer in the Kawarthas. Last year over 7000 people attended. This year they are expecting closer to 10,000 people to come out and enjoy the live music, food, hundreds of vendors and annual show and shine. This year will also include a Used Bike Corral, Bikefest church service and prizes and award given out throughout the day. All events will take place in the downtown core from 10am to 4pm. 23, Hawks MC Annual Poker Run, Mount Hope, ON
Starting at the 447 Club located at 3210 Homestead Drive, just south of Airport Road, the event includes a full meal at the last stop. The 447 is offering a $5 buffet breakfast from 8:30am.

27-30, Ontario H.O.G. Rally, Oshawa, ON
The 25th Provincial Harley Owners Group descends on Oshawa for it's 2013 rally. Hosted by the

28-30 - Bikers Reunion, New Liskeard, ON
The Bikers Reunion started in 1999 as a fundraiser for cancer and as a community event celebrating the thrill of motorcycling. An annual event since 2004, it has raised $697,000 in donations towards curing and treating cancer and has seen thousands of bikers and non-bikers come to this family oriented event from all over North America, Europe and beyond. Last year saw over 6,000 bikes and 25,000 spectators. Check back here for more details on the 2013 reunion as they are announced.

July 2013 Cruiser Events

The East Williams Optimist Club's 5th annual Rural Ramble will start at the Nairn Optimist Park and embark on a 200km route through Middlesex Kent and Elgin Counties. The ride will take approximately 3hrs to complete with no stops. There will be three rest stops that are recommended for 20 to 30 minute stops at each so as to enjoy what is there. The ride will be followed by a BBQ dinner starting at 4pm. The Canada Day Cruise will be all on paved roads and avoid all construction zones. Proceeds will go to supporting the Bravery Bead Program at Children's Hospital of Southwestern Ontario.

Taking place on County Road 30 South along the Trent Severn Waterway, the day runs from 9am to 4pm and will include Vendors, Food Booths and catering by the Lions Club. All makes and models of vintage motorcycles and cars wanted for display.

12-14, Georgian Bay Thunder Weekend, Midland, ON
This year the weekend will take place in beautiful Little Lake Park in Midland. There will be music, camping and a refreshment tent on Friday night. On Saturday there will be a 120km ride through the breathtaking Southern Georgian Bay landscape. The day will include a Brag & Buff, vendors, free draws and prizes and a halfway stop in Penetanguishene with donated snacks and a lunch. On Sunday riders are invited to meet at the bandshell and head out for scenic Southern Georgian Bay casual rides. Funds will go to Community Reach.

13-14, Northern Ontario Ride for Sight, Sault Ste. Marie, ON
The first annual Ride for Sight in Sault Ste. Marie yielded some great results for vision research over the Canada Day weekend in 2012. Together, riders raised more than $20,000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. With the event moved to the Searchmont Resort and coinciding with a Blues festival, the 2013 edition is sure to surpass the inaugural year.  Check back here for more details as they are announced.

The first annual Muskoka Motorcycle Rally will include  motorcycle skills shows, stunt shows,  demo rides and  vendors all on the shores of the beautiful Lake Muskoka. There will also be live music, food, beer and a VIP sunset cruise. There will be free parking lots right at the Gravenhurst Wharf dedicated for motorcycles only with attendants on site to safeguard your ride. There are many options for accommodations including camping just minutes south of the event.

19-21, Ride Manitoulin, Providence Bay, ON
Back for another year, the Ride Manitoulin weekend is sure to be great time. Three days chock full of vendors, food, live music, biker games and best of all, rides around the beautiful island. Saturday features the Ladies Ride and Art Tour. A wide range of accommodations and camping available on site make it a great choice for a weekend getaway. Proceeds from the event donated to Manitoulin Family Resources Food Bank and CNIB Eye Van.

20, Cargill Bike Bash, Cargill, ON
The weekend will take place at the Cargill Community Centre starting with the Jerry Lippert Memorial Biker Run on Saturday at 9am. The afternoon will include a Show and Shine, Motorcycle Rodeo & Burn Out Pit and live music from the Breakwater Blues Band. There will be a dance on Saturday night from 9pm to 1am with live music from CrAzY MaKeR. Sunday morning offers a breakfast from 8 to 11am.

21, WROAR Ride IX, Brampton, ON
Taking place at Brampton Powersports, the 9th Women Ride Out Against Rape Ride is a women's ride but men and transgendered individuals are welcome and encouraged to come out too. Riders and all participants will raise pledges for the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape. This year the goal is to have 100 riders raise $100 each for a total of $10,000.   There will be special rider goodie-bags and great prizes for top fundraisers as well as a special prize for the participating club that raises the most money.

25-27, Northern Stars National Rally, Orillia, ON
The Northern Stars National Rally is held annually to help bring members and friends of members to a central meeting point for festivities and fun. Expect demo rides, group rides, vendors, show & shine, draws and prizes. The weekend starts off on Thursday night with the opening cerememonies and live music from the 11 North Band. Friday night there will be the Boat Cruise and the Casino Rama. Transportation to and from both events will be available. On Sunday evening there will be a dinner, dance and award ceremony. 27, Bikers Against Brain Cancer Ride, St. Andrews West, ON
This year there will be a new ride route leaving from St. Andrews West to Brockville and back to Cornwall on some of eastern Ontario's scenic back roads. Picking up riders along the way, the ride will end at the 2013 Seaway Lions Rib Fest at Lamoureux Park for a nice meal, live entertainment and a beer garden. Includes a reserved section for riders where there will be security to watch over the bikes.

2,5, 20th Annual Freedom Rally, Sudbury, ON
One of the few remaining club rallies in the province, the long-running Freedom Rally will be held at the Mine Mill Campground. The weekend will feature three nights of camping, a dance on Saturday night with entertainment by Spyder's Web, a catered dinner Sunday evening, continental breakfasts, guided road rides, motorcycle field events and free wiener roasting at the nightly bonfires. The 5th annual cross-country relay ride will start on August 2nd in St. John's, NL and end in Victoria, BC on August 25th. On August 11th the ride will depart Ottawa and travel to Trenton, about 300km. The ride will overnight there and leave on the 12th to travel 300km to Borden, stay there then the next day for a longer haul of 625km to Sault Ste. Marie. After a rest there it's another long run to get to Thunder Bay. On the 15th the ride will depart Thunder Bay and Ontario for Winnipeg, Manitoba and the rest of the West. 10, Knights of the Inferno Fire Fighters Ride for Camp Bucko, Emsdale, ON
An escorted ride by local fire departments winding through Muskoka and the Almaguin Highlands. The day will also have a BBQ, vendors (including a tatto artist), music, beer tent and silent auction. There will also be a bike rodeo following the ride for anyone wanting to give it a go. The rodeo portion of the day will include games such as wiener bite and barrel roll contest.

Starting at the Unity Location of the Eden Community Food Bank in west Mississauga, the event is a signed, three hour poker run-style ride covering some of the most scenic roads north of Mississauga. 24, B.M.A. 32nd Annual Toy Ride Parade, Brampton, ON
Beginning at 11am at the Brampton Soccer Centre, this is a police escorted one-hour parade through the streets of Brampton. The ride will end with door prizes, silent auction, 50/50 draw and more. Proceeds go to the Brampton Civic Hospital Pediatric Ward.

A women's only motorcycle tour of Perth County with organized stops along the way. Riders will be stopping at locations throughout the day and will be collecting stamps at different shops and boutiques at each community. Retailers will aslo be providing special in-store demonstrations, coupons or small gifts. The goal is to collect as many stamps as possible. 8, Correctional Officers Ride, Newmarket, ON
The ride starts at RioCan Mall, 1111 Davis Drive in Newmarket. The ride will end with prize draws and vaious displays geared towards Corrections and Prisons. Funds from the ride will go to an educational scholarship fund for the children of the Israeli prison wardens who were tragically killed in the 2010 Carmel Forest Fire. 13, Friday the 13th, Port Dover, ON
This is the Granddaddy of motorcycle events in Ontario. If you've been then you know what we're talking about. If you haven't then you've probably heard about it. Famous the world over, this mass convergence of motorcycles has taken place in Port Dover every Friday the 13th since 1981. Expect tens of thousands of bikers and visitors this September. The 10th Annual ride will depart from the Canadian Firefighters Museum at 10am. Each year this ride honours the memory of former Fire Chief Scott Robinson who died on April 1, 2004. All proceeds from the ride are donated to Camp Bucko

Meeting at 999 Church Street in Fenwick, the ride will depart at 6:00pm for motorcycle demos at the Welland County Speedway. Gates open at 9:00am on Saturday. Nothing says summer like super-fast bikes and the smell of burning rubber at the Shannonville Motorsport Park. Round #1 of the RACE series will take place on the Pro Track. Sunday is race day, a detailed schedule will be posted the week before the event.

Growing in popularity each year is the Vintage Road Racing Association's Quinte TT. Named to commemorate races held in the streets of Belleville in the Mid-30's. The first of the season's races will take place on the Nelson Circuit and the Long Track at the Shannonville Motorsport Park May 31st, June 1st and 2nd. 11 races each day for vintage and classic bikes with a professional announcer. See bike and racers in the pits, great stand seating. Also includes food concessions, souvenirs, t-shirts and the option to Try the Track on your bike for $20 for 20 minutes.

The 2013 series starts Shannonville Motorsport Park, the storied venue that firest hosted a National Round in September of 1980. RACE, the organizing group that first conducted events in eastern Canada in 1981 will again host the S.M.P. MOPAR CSBK event on the Long Track. Friday is open practice for the riders, Saturday practice then qualifying and Sunday is race day. Bikes on the track by 9am each day until 5pm. The largest motorcycle trackday provider in Canada, Pro 6 Cycle offers the excitement of on-track racing in a safe and controlled environment. VIP events are run open track rather than in 3 groups. All riders are free to come and go on the track as they please. VIP days are restricted to experienced Pro 6 Cycle trackday clients who have ridden 20+ Pro 6 Events in the past or provide a reference from another reputable organization. Lunch contribution of $25 is requested, $35 for non-members. Calabogie can be a challenging ride area suitable for advanced novices to experts. Not suitable for children or beginners. Event will be held at the Muttco Track
 
Taking place at the Free Flow Mx Park, Saturday will be a practice day. Everyone is welcome to practice with the club. Sunday is race day and the track will be open to spectators at no charge.  
 
Will be held at the Steel City Riders club track.
 
 
This event will take place at Abalea Acres and is hosted by the Bytown Motorcycle Association. After listening to suggestions from riders, this still technical course has been opened up to allow some more passing, been given a longer track and has an improved extreme section for afternoon class riders. Morning race starts at 10:00am and afternoon race at 1:00pm. There will be a BBQ on race day. All proceeds will go to charity. Registration open from 8:30am to 12:30pm. 
Recommended Accommodations: Basic camping will be available on site.

7, 8, Calbogie Boogie Dual Sport Ride, Calabogie, ON
Ontario's premiere ride event, the Calabogie Boogie draws riders from Ontario, Quebec and Northeastern U.S. attracted by some of the best riding terrain around. Suitable for advanced novices to experts. Not suitable for children or beginners. Riders under 16 need to be strong riders. Most trails will be single track, although dirt road and atv tracks may be used as connectors. Calabogie can be a challenging ride area. There will be a main loop, with various optional routes marked for difficulty ranging from Level 3 (intermediate) to Level 5 (experts only). Staging area at Calabogie Highlands Golf Course. Sound check and sign in starting at 3:00pm on Friday the 6th and 7:00pm on Saturday the 7th. Advance registration required online at www.oftr.ca. $100 for OFTR Members, $125 for non-OFTR Members or registrations after September 2nd. Primitive camping available at the start/finish point.

    Cant wait to be part of all the cruises and rides and events for charities this year.
    Although i wont be able to be a passanger this year as i will be fresh out of surgery , i will still
