Algoma Country's Wawa Wow!!

wawa goose northern ontario algoma country

You will be welcomed by the famous Canada Goose when you discover Wawa, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior and part way between Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Thunder Bay. This truly northern town was built around the very wilderness it was carved from. The fur trade, forestry, mining supply, outfitters and more have all flourished in this place. Spectacular winter storms, stunning autumn colours, summer evening sunsets over the lake and a burst of new life every spring make Wawa, Ontario a natural hub for this four season destination. Don't forget to take your picture with the goose, it is, after all, one of the most photographed monuments in North America!

Visit the Falls

Get out the cameras and lace up your hiking boots and out to the falls. Silver Falls is a photographer's delight whether you visit the main falls or the hidden higher falls; this is a picturesque place where the water's song is heard long before the waters are seen. Scenic Magpie Falls offers an incredible 75 foot vertical drop! With a heavy spring run off, either of these falls is sure to provide amazing sights, sounds and spray!

Young's General Store

A stop at Young's General Store is like a step back in time! You can gas the car, the boat, the RV, the ATV and stock up on all your fishing needs. Or would you just like a souvenir to remind you of Wawa? Then Young's is the spot!

A Naturally Superior Adventure

Sea Kayaking is an adventure the whole family can get into and Naturally Superior offers experienced day trips or, for the beginner, lessons that will allow you to experience and explore the wilderness. Everything you need for an amazing expedition is available from Naturally Superior.

Life's a Beach

Wawa Lake is a great inland lake providing great opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Dr. Rose's beach is the perfect family spot with a playground, change rooms and picnic area. Sandy beach on Lake Superior is unbelievable, facing west backed by sand dunes and framed by bedrock cliffs.
