Northern Lights Festival Boreal is a long-standing tradition in Sudbury, and invites the global community to Bell Park to enjoy soulful music, local food, and all-around good times with family and friends.
Summer in the Park is three days of family fun, on the beautiful North Bay waterfront. Concerts happen throughout the weekend. The 2016 line-up has yet to be announced. Free family events as well as many vendors will also be on hand!
Stare down your fear of heights on the French River suspension bridge, which has spectacular views of the French River Gorge from both directions. Access is available from a hiking trail stemming from the French River Provincial Park Information Centre off of Highway 69.
Pet a moose or feed buffalo on a public wildlife tour at Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa, right within city limits of Timmins. Bridal Veil Falls is rated as one of Manitoulin Island's greatest attractions—and it's all natural. The sight itself is beautiful, but if the weather is right and the mood strikes you can swim in the wading pool underneath the falls. Walking trails follow the river down to the waterfront and Manitoulin Chocolate Works. A full day could be spent enjoying Kagawong.

Spend an epic day at the beach in North Bay, where you can choose between a cruise on the Chief Commanda II, a ride on the Heritage Carousel & Train, or perusing the many shops and museums downtown. The Chief Commanda II cruises are throughout the day and range from a short cruise around Manitou Islands, to a sunset dinner cruise to Callander Bay.
Swim with Ganuk and Henry, the resident polar bears at Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat. During summer hours, 'Meet the Bears' times are two times per day, and kids can swim with in a wading pool adjacent to the polar bear enclosure. While you're there, learn about research the habitat is conducting to benefit polar bears world-wide.
The Sudbury icon is 64 million times larger than the nickel you'd find in your pocket. After you're done posing for your photo-op with the iconic coin, take a fascinating underground tour with Dynamic Earth.
Participate in hands-on exhibits that inspire, educate and entertain the whole family at Science North. The Science Centre and Imax Theatre are dynamic and ever-changing. Passport packages are available so why not make a day of it?
The New Liskeard Bikers Reuinion sets out to be a fun, family-oriented weekend celebrating the sport of riding motorcycles. It also fundraises to help people who are battling cancer through the Temiskaming Hospital Community Cancer Care Unit. Last year $110,000 was donated to the Cancer Care Unit as part of their efforts!
The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge is just the beginning of a great weekend. Paddlling events include Heart & Stroke Foundation 3-man kayak sprints, kayak clinics and guided family leisure paddle & shore lunch, all of which will take place on the Mattagami & Mountjoy Rivers.
