Experience The Fun Of Treetop Trekking In Ontario

A treetop trekking adventure is so much fun.

Each Thanksgiving, my family and I share an outdoor adventure – something that is active and helps us connect to each other. Last year was the best ever – we conquered the Treetop Trekking aerial course in Huntsville!

After getting geared up with harnesses and helmets, we anxiously walked to the course area. We looked up and saw people zipping through the colourful fall foliage, balancing precariously on log ends and swinging on ropes like Tarzan.

We were all a little nervous but very excited to get started. After a safety and practice session close to the ground, we climbed the first ladder and rocked the first several courses.

The next courses were a little higher and a little more difficult but our confidence grew after completing each one.

We laughed, joked around and encouraged each other to keep going. It was a great bonding experience.

The final course, before the big zip lines, was the Tarzan rope swing. My neice Nicole, shown below, had no fear but as I sat on the edge of the platform, high in the trees, I really didn’t think I could do it. But I did – I let go and did a free fall (anchored by a secured rope) into the large net.  WOW – I felt so alive and so proud.

My niece, Nicole, loved the Tarzan rope swing.

If you are looking for something fun to do with your family this Thanksgiving or anytime, I highly recommend trying a treetop aerial park or a treetop canopy nature walk. Find one near you with this list of the treetop trekking Ontario has to offer.
