Searchmont Resort officially opens it's doors tomorrow, Saturday December 20, 2014 for another great season of skiing, snowboarding, and winter sports! Searchmont's seven hundred and fifty foot vertical drop is known for its well groomed trails, natural rolling terrain and friendly staff.

Since 1957, Searchmont has provided a beautiful place to enjoy a weekend away in a cozy, European-style chalet. Advanced skiiers will love the treed skiing sections and snowboarders can perfect their skills in the terrain park. If you're new to these exciting winter sports, you can expect instruction by top of the line, certified experts. Everyone can participate at Searchmont – a resort well-known for its adaptive ski equipment and accesible programming. Bring your whole family - kids 10 and under ride for free!

This winter, Searchmont is excited to share The Snow Express Train; available to pick up guests at the Algoma Central Railway rail yard at 9:00am, traveling to Searchmont Resort every Thursday and Saturday all winter long. Guests who wish to book the picturesque train ride can get in touch with helpful Searchmont staff – who will book your day pass and ride home as well!

This Saturday, December 20th, Searchmont is happy to give out free day passes to guests in exchange for a 5$ donation to Pauline's Place. Staff from Pauline's Place will be onsite to pick up donations and provide more information about their services. New Years, Searchmont will be the place to be - Live entertainment, champagne and slopes will make for an unforgettable evening!

SKI & RIDE FOR FREE WHILE SUPPORTING A GOOD CAUSE

SAULT STE. MARIE – On Sat. Dec. 20th 2014 Searchmont Resort will be offering free lift tickets for the day in exchange for a minimum $5 donation to Pauline's Place Not For Profit Homes Inc.

Pauline's Place relies heavily on the support of the community through donations and fund raising events to continue to offer advocacy, outreach, and support to local youth and women.

Searchmont is pleased to be able to support Pauline's Place by offering free skiing and snowboarding to the community in exchange for donations.

Searchmont staff has been working hard to get the mountain ready for opening day. Please contact the resort for up to date information on conditions before heading out.

All donations will be collected by representatives from Pauline's Place.

Donations will go towards supporting the shelter and it's work with homeless & at-risk youth, and homeless women in our community.

Pauline's Place is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, supportive and caring environment for youth between the ages of 16 to 18 and women who have nowhere else to go whether it be as a result of an unstable living environment, unforeseen circumstances or family breakdown.
