Take a Ride by the River
Located in OFSC District 6, Pembroke Ontario offers three great day rides in the Upper Ottawa Valley from snowmobile-friendly staging hotels such as the Best Western or the Comfort Inn.
The Pembroke area has many things to offer and a beautiful view overlooking the country's capital river, the Ottawa, is one of them! Whether you're looking for day trips or over nighters, check out these popular itineraries. Just try to resist the temptation to run out the door and jump on the sled, we dare you.
Day One
One of the local favourites is a day trip southwest from Pembroke to the Village of Deacon for a bite to eat. You can leave Pembroke heading west on the TOP B railway bed and exit on TOP B102 – the view towards Golden Lake is fantastic. After a stop at the Sands On Golden Lake Resort, take TOP B101A back to TOP B and into Pembroke.
Day Two
Another favourite ride is from Pembroke northwest to Rolphton, behind beautiful Algonquin Park. Take the TOP A trail from Pembroke heading towards Petawawa and Chalk River. The North Renfrew and Missing Link snowmobile clubs have some of the most scenic trails in the area. Having a hearty lunch in Deep River at the Bears Den is always delicious, and if you're too full or tired, you can head back to Pembroke. But if you have some time, the trip from Rolpton to Stonecliffe is worth the extra distance. The view of the Laurentian Mountain Range across the Ottawa River is worth the drive by itself. If you're feeling even more adventurous, check out Club Trails 136, 193 or 191 along the boundary of the Park.
Day Three
Finally, the ride from Pembroke east towards Westmeath on TOP B is very popular. The view overlooking the Ottawa River into Quebec is a must-see. Take Whitewater Sno-Goers' trail 116 to Westmeath and be sure to stop for a snack at Nangor Resort. Loop around on the TOP B and Club Trail 114 to Beachburg and Cobden. Return back to Pembroke on the TOP A for some nice pipeline riding.
District 6 is very fortunate to have many scenic TOP and Club Trails in the area, so please consider this as your personal invitation to enjoy our trails!
