Why I love District 4
Well I live right on the river so it's really easy for me to get anywhere, and I mean anywhere. I can leave here for a daytrip, grab some breakfast with some friends at a local waterfront diner in Keswick and continue on. District 4 has everything I love.
One of the great local rides between the 3 Clubs on the Eastern portion in District 4 is leaving my place on the river and heading over to the Holland Landing Clubhouse, where I usually have set up a time to meet up with friends. We then leave on the land trail that hooks up to the Georgina's system where we ride and grab some breakfast/brunch. From there we go across the lake to meet up with the Innisfil trails and do a loop up to the B trail just below Barrie. We then ride on the ice again and zig zag back to Georgina where we hit the land trails at Roaches Point & Sutton. We always stop at the Tim Horton's in Sutton for a warm up. If we have time, we can even travel a little farther east but usually we just do that loop. By the time we get home it's been a good 5-6 hours and the boys load up at the HLSC and I head back across the river to my house. Several years ago, I never knew anything about all these trails all over the place...I just mostly ran the river and the lakes. Since I met my friends that are involved in the local club, I have seen and learned that I can get anywhere from here - all I need is gas, a map and of course, snow!
