Summer Time In Greater Sudbury
School is out and summer is in full swing!
It's time to take out your sandals and sunscreen and head to Sudbury where there is plenty of festivals, activities and excitement to be had! Here are 10 fun experiences for the summer!
1. Taste the best of harvest at downtown's Market Square. Our Farmer's Market is the cornucopia of fresh produce, smoked meats, baked goods, preserves and more.
2. Put on your sunscreen and spend the day at Bell Park located on the shores of Ramsey Lake. The park has play areas, picnic grounds, flowers gardens and the spectacular Jim Gordon Walkway that spans the length of the park and links to Science North.
3. Play a round of mini-golf at Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf. Discover why mini golf is mammoth at Dinosaur Valley, with 7 different courses, a total of 63 holes and 20 mammoth skeleton dinosaurs.
4. Do you have a "Need for Speed"? Experience real racing at a fraction of the cost of owning your own equipment. Put on a helmet and step into a Go-kart at Sudbury Kartways.
5. Hit the Links! Greater Sudbury is home to 14 courses, including Northern Ontario's most celebrated golf course, Timberwolf. Choose a course that suits your playing style or play them all. You can always expect to enjoy a fantastic golf experience!
6. Set Sail!! Embark in your journey on beautiful Ramsey Lake and learn how to sail from the instructors at The Sudbury Yacht Club.
7. Visit Wagonwheel Ranch for a beautiful sunset ride in the Boreal forest. 2 hour sunset rides for the summer- each sunday departing at 6pm OR you can also try we also offer a more advanced 2 hour guided ride that takes you to all the way to the to a set of picturesque rapids along the beautiful vermillion river - don't forget your camera!
8. Take a hike at Lake Laurentian Conservation Area. The 55 km (34 mi.) of hiking, biking, and jogging trails provide excellent fall color and photo opportunities!
9. Join in on all the festivities taking place this summer here in the City of Greater Sudbury. Whether you celebrate the wild blueberry harvest for the Blueberry Festival, taste delicious traditional food at the Greek Festival or pay tribute to the treasured galic blub at the Garlic Festival you will be sure to have a unique experience.
