February Fun Activities!

This February there are fun activities for people of all ages. Whether you want to enjoy the great outdoors or warm up indoors - there are plenty of fun activities to choose from.

Pond Hockey Festival On The Rock - February 3rd to 5th

Ramsey Lake will play host to the fourth annual Pond Hockey Festival On The Rock (PHFR). 90 teams and over 1000 participants, spectators and volunteers will take to the ice for 3-on-3 play during the day and into the night.

Additional events for 2012 include ice fishing for kids, hosted by Sudbury Game & Fish, Dog Sled Rides, provided by M.U.S.H.E.R.S. Dog Sled Tours, a guided snowshoe tour directed by Rainbow Routes and tethered balloon rides in the famous Remax Hot Air Balloon! These exciting activities will take place on Saturday. Food and beverage vendors will also be onsite for players and festival goers to fuel up.

Squaring the Circle Exhibit

Artists on Elgin is pleased to be hosting "Squaring the Circle," a solo exhibit by woodturner Denis Gauthier. Squaring the Circle will be on display from February 3rd to February 29th. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and meet the artist.

The Brothers Grimm: Out of Order - February 4th

The Brothers Grimm: Out of Order, by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus is a Sudbury Theatre Centre Students On Stage Production. The production takes place on February 4. A Fractured Fairytale. When brothers Jake and Will Grimm can't agree on a script, they end up in an altercation which results in pages being swapped and plots intermingled. What ensues is a madcap romp through some of your favourite fairy tales. Tickets are $12 for adults and seniors and $7 for students.

Mcfarlane Playground Winter Carnival - February 10 to 12

Join the Mcfarlane Playground Winter Carnival from February 10 to 12. The event features family fun, games, a penny table, food, hockey games and community spirit.
