An Engaging Evening of East Indian Culture

Experience the tastes and sounds of Krishna culture right here in Thunder Bay at Festival of India July 23 & 24.

This is the eighth year for the festival featuring an evening of traditional and classical Indian entertainment, food, art, theatre, fashion, children’s activities and much more. The evening event runs both days from 4 to 8 pm in the beautiful setting down on the Thunder Bay waterfront in the festival area at Marina Park.

Admission is free with donations accepted and gives you access to meal tickets for a traditional East Indian vegetarian feast. Food vendors are on site serving serving Samosas (chick-pea stuffed pastry) and Pakoras (deep fried potato mix with gram flour batter).

You will be enlightened to learn more about reincarnation, vegetarianism and the history of the beliefs that have an honoured tradition in India and around the world. The entertainment is fantastic featuring Bharat Natyam and Odissi dance, Kirtans and Bhajans with Sitar, Saraj, Tamboura, Tablas, Mridanga, Harmonium and Kartals.

North American Tour

Krishna culture Festivals of India are held across many cities of North America as part of a Festival of India North American tour that begins in April and runs through October. Thunder Bay is one of five Canadian cites hosting events along with Toronto, MontreaL, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
