Chapleau Pike Ice Fishing Derby
February 10, 2018
Big Cash Prizes: Derby Tickets enter you for a chance to win 2017 red four door 4x4 Dodge Ram pickup whether you fish or not. Top Eight Fish awarded prizes, Top Prize is $10,000. Special 20th Anniversary Prize: fly-in fishing package for two for Henderson's Outposts.
Entry Fee: $145 per ticket. Only 850 tickets will be sold! 
Register on or before December 31, 2016 and be entered for a chance to win one of 10 merchandise prizes.

Elliot Lake Ice Fishing Derby
February 17, 2018
Real in the big one! Elliot Lake's annual Ice Fishing Derby takes place on Horne Lake.
First Prize: Half the Purse. Top 10 are GUARANTEED a prize! Thousands in door prizes to be randomly drawn.

Wawa Ice Fishing Derby
March 2 - 4, 2018
Wawa's Annual Ice Fishing Derby draws a huge crowd each year! The Derby takes place on Wawa Lake, Hawk Lake and Manitowik Lake.
Limited to 1400 participants.
Prizes: Six prizes for Largest Fish (by weight) of any species caught on Each Derby Lake. Eighteen prizes in total.
Entry fee: $145.00 (Cash or Cheque) or $150.00 (Online or Credit Card) (HST is included in prices)
Food, beverages, pancake breakfast, fish fry, Fisherman's dinner on Sunday, games, socials, prizes and events for the whole family.

Children's Perch Derby
March 11 2018
Entry fee: $5 per child; must be accommpanied by an adult
This catch and release derby is for children aged 14 years and under. Registration fee include prize, hot dog and drink.
Registration starts 9am at West Neebish Road in Laird Township and closes 11am. Measuring station open until 1pm.

Ernie Eddy Memorial Children's Ice Fishing Derby
March 2018 TBA, St. Joseph Island
Entry fee: FREE
Held each year by the St. Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers Association, cash prizes and trophies are awarded to winning participants and gifts are provided by the sponsors to all children that enter.
Hot chocolate, hot dogs and many other goodies are served all day.
Each participating child receives a St. Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers Association Lucky Strike Bait Works lures.

Hearst Spring Derby
June 16, 2018

Hosted on the Hearst Chain of Lakes: Pivabiska, Wolverine, Hanlan and St-Thérèse. A catch and release derby for the whole family, on the Chain of lakes, starting at 8am at Veilleux Marina and ending at 4 pm. Prizes will be drawn at 6 pm under the tent. Lots of prizes: 12 chances per boat; prize for longest walleye, pike and perch; special prize for our members; 50/50 draw all day.

Geraldton Walleye Classic

The fishing on Kenogamisis Lake is fantastic and provides fishermen with the challenge of a shallow water fishery. This popular tournament fills up quickly so register early!

Big Pike Family Fishing Derby
June 2018 TBA, Johnson Township (Desbarats)
Longest fish wins, Grand Prize $250 and Trophy, 1st - 2nd - 3rd Runner Up Trophies and Cash for Adults and for Youth. Draw prize opportunities for all registrants. BBQ from Noon to 4 pm. Proceeds benefit Johnson Township Recreation programs and Johnson Township Fire Dept equipment purchases.

Annual Island Fishing Derby - St. Joseph Island
July 1 - 9 2018
Coinciding with Ontario's Free Fishing Weekend, this fishing derby invites children and adults to get out and fish together. Promoting catch and release, registered participants are asked to take a photo of their catch and submit it with all the details by email to the St. Joseph Island Anglers and Hunters. Photos are reviewed daily and uploaded to the tournament gallery leaderboard. There are separate categories for children and adults.
Cash prizes awarded to longest fish caught in each species category.
Registeration Fees: $50 per adult, $20 per child (cash only)

Thessalon Riverbank Fishing Derby
July 5 2018
Entry Fee: $5 per child at time of sign up
Taking place at Peace Park, the Thessalon Fishing Derby is a kids fishing derby with 4 age categories and prizes to be won. All kids participating in the derby must wear a life jacket and be supervised. There will also be music and marshmallow roasting.

The Club is hosting a walleye derby. There will be a food and beer garden.

Wawa Salmon Derby

Wawa's Superior Sporting Event is holding its Annual Salmon Tournament on Lake Superior. Food, beverages, pancake breakfast, fish fry, Fisherman's dinner on Sunday, games, socials, prizes and events for the whole family.

This is a great way to get out and enjoy fishing with the family and teach the younger generation the joy of fishing in Algoma Country! Canadian residents are allowed the chance to fish in Ontario waters license-free from 12:01 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday). This free fishing event is only valid during these dates. At any other time, it's important to know that Canadian residents between ages 18 and 64 must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
