Ghost Town Adventures

Lost Channel, Ludgate, and Pakesley: three intriguing Northern Ontario ghost towns within 10 km of each other. Just east of Highway 69 on 522, these towns are rich in history and are located near some excellent ATV trails.

The three towns were originally settled as the logging industry boomed in the early 1900s, and connected through the Canadian National Railway mainline and a small short line called the “Key Valley Railway” that ran from Lost Channel west to the main line and later Georgian Bay.

The result of many years of logging is a multitude of forest access roads and interconnecting ATV trails that will keep you exploring for a number of days.

For a great adventure, plan to spend a few days, either camping at the nearby Grundy Lake Provincial Park, or a two-bedroom cottage at the full service Lost Channel Inn.
