Amid the stunning Ontario scenery, Kaby is a remarkable aquatic ecosystem capable of producing staggering numbers of walleye of equally staggering size (in addition to giant pike and whitefish too!). During our June adventure there, 100+ fish days were a piece of cake, with several walleyes breathing on that coveted 30-inch mark. In fact, I lost a walleye at the boat that I believe was 34-inch and would have been my lifetime personal best. And that's no fish tale my friends. You can see it for yourself on an upcoming episode of "Good Fishing" that we filmed there.
I can't wait to get back to Kaby for another crack at that monster! I also need to get back for what I believe was the best shore lunch I've ever had. There is no greater anticipation as when the intoxicating aroma of fried walleye reaches your nose on an Ontario shoreline. Wow, I'm getting hungry just writing about it!
As for real wolves in wolf clothing, you'll have a chance of glimpsing one of those elusive phantoms while you're in Ontario. Deer, bear, eagles, loons, fox, ducks, grouse, geese and other wildlife will make appearances too. It's wild!
So if you're looking for a destination that offers the finest of everything that goes with a classic Canadian fly-in fishing adventure, feast your big eyes on Ontario's Kaby Lake.
