Heading From the GTA To Bikers Reunion This Weekend?

Planning the route is almost as fun as actually riding it!

It's no secret that we here at What A Ride are big fans of the Bikers Reunion in New Liskeard. Besides being a vital force in the community, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the local cancer ward, it's just a plain and simple good time. See our past stories and videos to get an idea of why this event, of all the motorcycle events that take place across Ontario every year, has made it's mark on us and the thousands of other riders who make the trip on the last weekend of June each year.

We've covered the event from different angles throughout the years but neglected one of our favourite parts of the weekend—the ride there! So here we'll share with you our picks for the best routes there and back.

Day 1

Starting on Friday morning, we'll depart from Deeley Harley-Davidson and make our way to Northeastern Ontario avoiding the 400 highways by taking choice roads through Ontario's Highlands and Explorers' Edge regions.

Day 2

We'll be busy on Saturday taking in some of the million things to do but if we get a chance we'll duck out for a quick jaunt on the Temiskaming Loop.

Day 3

Sunday will see us reluctant to leave the party but happy to be on the road again. Heading south down Highway 124 west to Parry Sound and the 169 to Gravenhurst, we'll then use the 400 to get just north of Lake Simcoe where we'll head back on the 12 and 48 and various backroads to arrive back in Toronto

We'll be reporting from the road as we ride with the Backwoods Girls team using the #OntarioMotoRoads and #BikersReunion2014 hashtags. Use the hashtags to let us know where you are—if you want to join us anywhere between the GTA and Temiskaming Shores get in touch!
