Savour the Season

Potatoes, corn, pumpkin patches, squash… we could list fall flavours forever. Local restaurants and farms are serving up local eats, fall fairs are scheduled for every weekend, farmers markets are bursting at the seams—there’s no shortage of places to locate local flavours in Northeastern Ontario during the fall.

Pair your dishes and farm-fresh hauls with local beers and spirits that have been brewed and distilled around the region. Besides providing a refreshing sip as you travel around the region, these beverages make great souvenirs and gifts to friends and family back home.

Scenic Drives

Fall drives in Northeastern Ontario offer the best of all the leaf-viewing worlds. In the southernmost reaches of the region, you’ll encounter the vibrant reds and oranges combining with cheerful golds and evergreen species for a perfect fall mosaic.

As you travel north, the deciduous landscape gives way to boreal forests—beautiful patterns of yellow and gold tamaracks, birch, and poplar contrasting with the pine and spruce iconic to the north.
