Whether you’re a local or from out of town traveling in the Northeast to visit friends/family we listed some of our favourite independent stores across the region for you.

the nickel refillery - Sudbury 

This is the first zero waste store in Northern Ontario and is doing a lot to reduce waste in Sudbury and is working to expand the community around zero-waste living. This is concept is becoming more common across the country and having our own store in the Northeastern is a big step in creating change. The Nickel Refillery offers a brand-new market to Sudburians and with that comes some wonderful gift ideas for the eco-conscious person in your life (which is hopefully more and more of us). 


Stitch & Stone.

Stitch & Stone is a modern fashion boutique that has two locations in Sudbury, one right downtown and one on the Kingsway. They also have a newly opened store called Wildflower by Stitch & Stone that is a speciality boutique for young girls. good luck general store - Sudbury

the farm - north bay

The FARM stands for Fashion Art Retail Market and is a location supporting emerging and established designers working to share and support local products. This store provides not only a workspace for its members to expand on their skills but also a boutique retail front. If you are in North Bay or travelling through North Bay make sure to stop in and check out the FARM.

le fromage country market - Verner

Le Fromage Country Market is a newly opened market and general store on Highway 17 right in between Sudbury and North Bay making it a must stop spot for anyone travelling along the route close to the holidays. You can pick up fresh homemade food as well as a wide variety of other delicious packaged goods. In addition to their food section they offer home decor, jewelry, furniture, art, and much more.

port shores x Saturdays- port loring

Port Shores is your one stop shop for everything we love about the holidays. Located on the shore Wauquimakog Lake the Port Shores packages a snack bar, café, and gift shop all into one. Before you start shopping at Saturdays which is one of the most aesthetic gift shops in the region we recommend grabbing a delicious coffee and treat from the Lake View Cafe. Saturdays has everything from art, candles, homemade fudge, games, home decor, drinkware, and lots of locally produced goods.
