The Polaris Command Your Ride Sweepstakes are On

The route has been set. Enter before January 8, 2018 to win a trip for two to ride brand new Polaris sleds in Ontario's Algoma Country with the crew from On Snow Magazine!

Editor's Note, March 20, 2018: The winners of the contest have been chosen. On Snow Magazine took Dave Tessier and Dave Morin up to Wawa, Ontario where they were treated to a king size burger at Halfway Haven and experienced some of the best backcountry riding that the area is becoming famous for. It's late March and the conditions are still top notch!

Since entries started being accepted in September, excitement has been growing around the Command Your Ride Sweepstakes. As winter continues its speedy approach, the crew at On Snow Magazine and Ontario’s Algoma Region have been hard at work putting together the route that the winners will follow.

Using the incredible trails and backcountry of Algoma Country as the backdrop to the contest, the winners will be spending four days and three nights exploring snowmobiling in Ontario on a pair of 2018 Polaris Snowmobiles, equipped with Ride Command Technology!

What is the Polaris Ride Command App?

Polaris Ride Command technology is truly next level stuff. For this trip to the Algoma region, we'll be making use of the trail maps that are built into the app, our smartphones, and the Polaris Interactive Digital Display. The Ride Command App will allow us to track our ride and follow the predetermined waypoints that have been set for the trip.

We'll also be able to view updated local weather forecasts and even keep an eye on snow depth.

Last, and new to the app, we'll be able to give up-to-the-minute reports on riding conditions. This new feature is built right into the app and we believe it's one of the coolest things the app has going for it, as it allows us, as a snowmobiling community, the ability to share information in real time. With more riders using the Ride Command App, the more interactive and useful this feature becomes. We truly believe that the Polaris Ride Command revolutionizes the snowmobiling experience and are happy it will be on board for this trip.

A snowmobile tour of Algoma Country

The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Sault St. Marie, Ontario will be our starting point for the adventure. Day One will have us leaving the truck and trailer at the staging area adjacent to the Searchmont Resort and blasting up the D Trail, one of the best in Ontario, to experience some fast, wide sweeping trails, and tight turns in wooded areas. We'll end up at the truly remote Half Way Haven Lodge for the night, where we're sure the day's events will be the topic of all conversation.

Day Two will see us continue along the D Trail where we know we'll find some amazing elevation changes and some really epic photo ops. This region is known for adventure sledding and that will be the focus of the day.

We'll end the day at the Wawa Motor Inn, enjoying the full-service snowmobile-friendly accommodations that are renowned in the sledding community.

On Day Three we'll hook up with some of the locals. They'll take us to some secret locations to try out some of the best backcountry riding in the Great Lakes basin. There will be no concern for getting lost at these secret locations because we'll have the Ride Command technology and everyone will be visible and traceable via our phones.

The last day will be bittersweet as we tour around the Wawa area and take in the epic trails that Algoma Country is known for. Then we make our way back to the real world to regale all our friends with stories of just how amazing the trip was.
