While so many spent the first half of the winter complaining that there's no snow, the truly die-hard sledders among us have been dutifully trailering up to where the white stuff lies and loving every minute of it.
And the local restaurants, hotels, motels, B & B's, gas stations and other destinations appreciate it too. Without snowmobile touring, many towns that rely on the winter traffic simply wouldn't survive. For example, look what the people of Burk's Falls are faced with due to the closure of a nearby trail.
The southwestern part of the province is having no luck at all but most of the northern regions in Ontario are fully up and running. OFSC District 15 has had a full day's worth of trails available since December and that includes the epic Northern Corridor Adventure Tour. Powder hounds have been heading to Algoma Country for boondocking adventures. Snow Country/OFSC District 6 has had an up and down winter with hundreds of kilometres of trails open depending on weather conditions. Check the OFSC interactive map to see which of the 33 official OFSC snow tours are currently open.
Below is a collection of photos we've received from businesses who are feeling the love from snowmobilers this winter.
If you run a business that welcomes snowmobilers let us know. Send a photo and we'll include it in the collection!
