Ice Fishing Trips Like No Other!

Looking for a fun winter getaway with all the comforts of home? Come out to Eagle Lake and try a stay at Temple Bay’s brand-new winterized facility, the only outfitter on Eagle Lake to offer ice fishing.

Incredible Lodging on Eagle Lake

When arriving at Temple Bay Lodge, you can't help but stare at their newly built, massive, log-hewn lodge. It has all the comforts you’re looking for after a productive day on the ice. Walking in you are presented with a beautiful “great room,” cathedral ceilings, and a stone hearth fireplace surrounded by comfy seating for leisurely evening storytelling near the warm, cozy fire. Grab a drink or snack at the bar and enjoy the evening.

A look around the room shows you the most amazing, hand-made long table that will accommodate all your friends and family for great meals and conversation. The room is banked by bedrooms and the stairs to the upper bedrooms. There are modern bathrooms on each level, including a fully wheelchair-accessible bathroom.

Just off the dining area, you are greeted by a kitchen that any professional chef would be pleased to cook in. Plenty of fridge/freezer space, gas stoves, coffee setup, and the list goes on. The entire building is truly breathtaking in its design. Take the convenient back door to the expansive garage and you’ll be able to prepare for the day on the ice in warmth and comfort.

Leaving the garage in the massive, heated six-seater Can-Am Defender, you head out onto the ice in style. This beast is a wonder of form and function. Or choose one of the two-seater snowmobiles. Either way, one look at them and you can see they can clearly handle anything winter can throw their way.

You arrive at your destination and are greeted by a heated shelter in the perfect location to allow for a day of fishing in any condition. Joining us on our trip were the crew from Midwest Outdoors, Firstrike Fishing, and Bucket Hoodie Company. You couldn’t ask for a better crew to be out there with, and it was fascinating watching them film for their commercial and YouTube video.

Eagle Lake is a playground for angling with a multitude of species each more fun to catch than the last. With Temple Bay Lodge being the only lodge open year-round on this 60,000-acre lake, you are bound to have an incredible time. Start your day with walleye; this succulent fish just gets better tasting with the cold water of winter. Let the guys from Temple Bay Lodge make you the best shore lunch you’ll ever have! Eating it right there on the ice you feel like you are on top of the world. The open sky and friends in a remote feeling location are something everyone should experience at least once, but we promise you that you’ll be hooked and want to come back time and time again.

With your lunch all done you can hunker down and jig for massive lake trout and pike for the afternoon. Or try your hand at perch and crappie. No matter which is your favourite, you’ll find them here. Watch an incredible winter sunset on the ice before heading back for the day to enjoy an evening of camaraderie and laughter.

Book your party, wedding, or company meeting; bring your cross-country skis, snowmobiles, or just a good book to enjoy by the fire and have the winter vacation of a lifetime. No matter what you need, you’ll find something for everyone at Temple Bay Lodge. Come out and enjoy awesome accommodations and multispecies fishing. Included in your completely customizable package is transportation, heated shacks, pre-drilled holes, minnows, great meals, and so much more.
