Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario lakes without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. Since it falls over the Family Day, it's a great time to take the kids or a friend who's never ice fished out to try hard water fishing. The Ontario Government designates the weekend of February 16-18, 2019 (12:01 am Saturday to 11:59pm Monday). During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
Participants without a license must adhere to the Conservation fishing license limits. Visit the Ontario Recreational Regulations Summary for details on the lake or fish species you'll be fishing.
