The New Year’s Eve Family Frolic, a true Northwest Ontario experience, offers an impressive number of fun indoor and outdoor activities for everyone in the family to enjoy! There will be live music and entertainment on both indoor and outdoor stages for all to enjoy.

There are plenty of outdoor activities for the kids and parents to take part in. How about a whizz down the sliding hill (be sure to bring your own sled); hop on a dog sled ride for $10/person (space is limited); enjoy a round of winter golf; try launching the snow catapult or making some cool designs with “snow graffiti”. You can bring your skates to glide along the outdoor rink (no hockey sticks please) set out on a snowshoeing adventure through the wilderness (snowshoes provided). Enjoy the warmth of the bonfires or take a photo with the Fort mascots, Willy and Amik – the options are endless! And don’t forget to sign the New Year’s Resolution board.

To cap off the evening of celebrations, everyone will gather in the Main Square just before 10:00 pm for the spectacular fireworks show. This allows the young ones to join in on a memorable New Years Eve celebration while still offering enough time to make it home for a good night’s rest; however, guests are also welcome to stay after the Family Frolic to admire the stars during a special Starwalk program at the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory. The Starwalk runs from 10:15 pm to 11:00pm. There is an additional fee.
