A Screening of the best climbing and adventure films

The REEL ROCK Film Tour stops in Thunder Bay on Tuesday November 9, 2016 as Wilderness Supply, an outdoor adventure store, presents a screening of some of top climbing films from around the world.

As rock climbing reaches new heights in Thunder Bay, the event is not only a staple gathering within climbing circles,  it’s a community event bringing business and neighborhoods together through the celebration of adventure.

The REEL ROCK Film Tour will be held at the Maple Tops Centre, 24 Court St. South, in the theatre setting that was the former Paramount Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 pm and runs until 9:30 pm, including intermission. Tickets are $14 advance, $17 at the door including tax now available online and in store at both Wilderness Supply and the Maple Tops Centre

With the recent release of Aric Fishman’s guide book – Thunder Bay Climbing – the Thunder Bay climbing scene is anchoring itself as a premiere adventure destination in Canada, And the REEL ROCK Film Tour coming to town is a pinnacle event celebrating the culture and camaraderie inherent to climbing and many adventure pursuits.

Hosted by Thunder Bay’s top gear store Wilderness Supply and supported by local businesses – Outdoor Skills and Thrills, Boulder Bear Climbing Centre, The Sweet North Bakery, Prime Gelato and the Maple Tops Centre, this evening film screening is part of a tour that brings the best climbing and adventure films of the year to live audiences throughout the world.

The film tour is the definitive annual event for climbing communities globally. Shows are high energy and go beyond mere film screenings to include prize giveaways and a party atmosphere.

Ray Bretzloff is a newcomer to Thunder Bay, but has been involved in the promotion of outdoor adventure for over 25 years. Working at Wilderness Supply, one of Thunder Bay's top outdoor store, Bretzloff likes the opportunity to help connect people to great outdoor experiences as a promoter of communiity events. Ray spends most of his free time with Lucky the Dog with piano and reading also listed as priorities during down time.
