You'll be delighted by the delectable selection of places where you can indulge your inner foodie in Algoma Country. From fine dining to beloved local hot spots, below are restaurants and locations that offer tantalizing meals of ethnic flavours and new twists on old favourites, using fresh locally sourced ingredients.
A very original landmark built in the classic 1960s centennial style! Located on Trans Canada Highway 17, the Red Top Motor Inn boasts an international modern bistro, using fresh and local produce, meat, and fish whenever possible. In-season vegetables sourced from local farmers, freshwater and smoked fish from local commercial fisheries and markets, poultry, beef and lamb are also locally sourced. Maple syrup, served at breakfast, comes from a small producer on St. Joseph Island. Fresh raspberries and strawberries are from Iron Bridge's strawberry fields, and wild blueberries when in season from local foragers. Using this local bounty, culinary staff search all over the world for their recipes and bring an international array of dishes, like Paella, Tagine, Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Indian Curries, and bring to life excellent recipes from America like BBQ Ribs and Southern Style Fried Chicken. The burgers -- Turkey, Lamb and Beef -- are made on the premises, using Ontario meats, are classics on Highway 17. Enjoy your meal with a selection of Ontario wines.

The Voyageurs' Lodge and Cookhouse serve up hearty meals that real voyageurs would have cooked over their open fires. Traditional meals include bannock and beans, savoury tourtiere (meat pie), poutine with fresh cheese curds, and fresh fish dinners are just some of the items on the menu. Meals are named with the local history and geography in mind like Trapper Jacques Chilli, and The Bowsman (burger). If you're looking for old favourites, the Cookhouse makes burgers the size of Batchawana Mountain. Our favourites include: panko-crusted whitefish tacos, and don’t forget the quintessential Canadian dessert -- the butter tart
