August 2013 Boating Events

9-11, AquaPalooza 2013, Rockport, ON
Organized by Sea Ray Boats, AquaPalooza events are celebrated in dozens of locations both here in Canada and throughout the United States. It welcomes power boaters, sailors, jeet skiers, kayakers, canoeists and anyone else who wants to enjoy some summertime fun by the water. Any boat, any brand, families, friends and water-lovers—everyone's welcome to come and celebrate the boating life. 10, Dragon Boat Races, Wellington, ON
Local club teams and teams from out of town compete for Club Trophy. Community and Breast Cancer Survivor teams will also compete, in the process helping the Wellington Lions to raise funds for use in the community. Waterfront celebreations start at 9am at Wellington Harbour. Contact Janet Marissen at 613-961-0990. 
 
Offering options for the weekend, the event will support Prostate Cancer Canada. On August 10th you can take the Ride of a Lifetime Full Day Poker Run Guest option from 8:30am to 4pm. Includes a lunch stop and awards banquet. Or on August 11th choose option two and join the Ride of a Lifetime Charity Ride from noon to 4pm. A charity poker run on Lake Simcoe in support of the Ramara and Orillia Fire Departments water based rescue and recovery resources. Labatt's is sponsoring a cocktail and reception Friday night at Tux II. Lunch will be served at The North in Barrie and there will be an auction and awards dinner at Tux II on Saturday evening. 18, Burlington Beach Club Cruise, Oakville, ON
Organized by the Oakville Power Boat Club.
 
23-24, Niagara Poker Run, Port Cedit and Niagara, ON
Boats launch from Promenade Marine in Port Credit, Mississauga on August 23rd. For those of you who have never done one before, a "poker run" is an organized transportation event during which participants visit a series of checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each stop along the route. At the end of the run, the participant with the best poker hand wins! It's a nice bit of summer fun and a great excuse to spend some time on the water, visit quaint towns, enjoy BBQ food and maybe even a little wine tasting. September 2013 Boating Events

Check out the new 2013 Line up and take advantage of the non-current blowout at Hurst Marina. Many new and used boats in the water for demo rides including Tow Boats, Family Cottage Runabouts, Sundecks, Cruisers & Yachts from great names such as Malibu, Axis, SeaRay and Meridian.

Annual show held in Montreal's Old Port area, allowing visitors to examine, visit and experience free demo rides of boats in the water.

January 2014 Boating Events

11-19, Toronto International Boat Show, Toronto, ON
Canada's largest boat show is back! Find the boat of your dreams, and everything to go with it, or just walk around and take it all in. Toronto's massive Direct Energy Centre will be bustling with shows, demos and product displays, not to mention the self-proclaimed world's largest indoor lake for boaters—novice and experienced boaters can get their feet wet and take advantage of free boat rides in canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and inflatable boats. In the meantime enter their "I Love Boating" Photo Contest for a chance to win some great prizes. Deadline for entries is September 30, 2013.
 

February 2014 Boating Events

6-9, Toronto Sportsmen's Show, Toronto, ON
Canada's biggest & best outdoors show has something for everyone whether you're into boating, fishing, hunting, outdoor adventure, wildlife....even inlcudes an all-star dog show! The Direct Energy Centre will be a great place to get a deal on a new boat or trailer. Dealers will be there selling plenty of models and brands of fishing boats, bass boats, cottage runabout and pontoon boats as well as personal watercrafts.
