Mark your calendars for two exciting events happening at Searchmont Resort this September.

September 13th

The Muddy Moose Charge Logo

The Canadian Cancer Society Muddy Moose Charge on Saturday September 13th is the first event of its kind in our community. This isn't your average charity run. In support of childhood cancer research, this fun 5KM run features 10+ obstacles and of course, mud! It demands endurance to trek through hills and valleys, courage to overcome uncompromising obstacles, and a complete lack of shame to sludge through dirt and mud all in the name of a great cause.

Register a team of five ($60 per person) with a minimum fundraising goal of $500 in pledges ($100 per team member). Or register as an individual ($60) and raise a minimum of $100 in pledges and enjoy a day filled with fun, mud, and laughs. Invite your friends, family, and co-workers to participate or watch as you cross the finish line! End the day with music, food and festivities. Register online at www.cancer.ca/muddymoose

Designed and laid out by experienced racers, The Muddy Moose Charge will feature obstacles such as the Huffing Haystacks, Moose Trap, Moose Trot and the Slippery Calf to name a few. A 1KM Muddy Calf Charge course for kids 13 and under will also be offered with a $20 registration fee, and no fundraising requirement.

The Muddy Moose Charge is a perfect complement to the Canadian Cancer Society's mission: promoting health, celebrating life and fighting back. It is a roller coaster ride of fun, excitement and physical and mental toughness that is anything but ordinary.

Supporting this exciting and inspiring event strengthens a proud community of people striving to reach a common goal—to beat childhood cancer and fight back. The event's goal is to raise as much money as possible for childhood cancer research that will benefit families in our community by helping to fund the most promising research Canada has to offer.

Start times will be assigned for the Muddy Moose Charge course - start times will begin at 9 am to 1:30 pm (heats begin every 1/2 hour); the Muddy Calf Charge course (kids 13 and under) will take place in 2 waves, 3:30 pm start for ages 4-7 and 4 pm start for ages 8-13.

Join The Muddy Moose Charge – register as a team or individual, pledge a participant, volunteer, become an event sponsor or come and watch the fun!
