Plan Now!

Book the Trip you Never Got to Take This Summer

In the blink of an eye, fall has arrived. As we settle in for the deep of winter, look ahead to warmer times and plan ahead now for your next summer trip!

Every year seems to bring the same story and the same amount of shock that we’re already into fall in a blink of an eye. If this summer got away from you, and you feel shorted or even burnt out from not taking enough time off, this is your chance to plan preemptively for next summer.

Don't wait until your favourite place is booked. Get the cabin or week that you want by booking early.

The fishing all through the summer in Sunset Country provides amazing angling opportunities. From casting early season for active walleye, bass, and pike in the shallows to targeting monster muskie off rocks mid-summer, or finding a deep trout pocket in July to jig, you’ll be hard-pressed to contain your excitement.

If you’re looking to book a fair-weather fishing trip, we recommend booking anywhere from June-August. If you’re after a certain species, you should have a look at the fishing regulations to be sure they are open. For instance, the muskie season does not open until the third Saturday in June.

This lake trout was caught on Troutfly Lake in the summer using a jig in a deep pocket.

Early spring is a fantastic time to visit for all open seasoned species of fish, but if you’re interested in other activities, mid-summer is an excellent time to visit. Great fishing, warm water for swimming, fun jumping rocks, islands, and beaches to explore, you name it.

Whether you decide to come for the early season or late, your time on the water from spring to summer’s end will be well spent fishing in Sunset Country.

Family Vacation

For those looking to book a family vacation loaded with activities for everyone in the household, any time in the summer is an excellent idea! You can choose from SUP rentals, kayaking, beaches to swim or explore by boat, fishing, and so much more in Sunset Country.

Several communities in Sunset Country are outdoors-oriented; an example of that is the ample amount of beaches and hiking trails within a close radius of towns and cities.

Or would you rather not spend your vacation in town? There are plenty of more remote options; you can even rent a houseboat if you're all lake lovers and never leave the water!

Sunset Country is a paddler's paradise. Three wilderness parks, over 70,000 accessible lakes and rivers, endless scenery and rugged terrain to explore, pictographs to discover, and more.

Booking with a canoe/kayak outfitter will save you the headache of planning trips yourselves. Or if you think the preparation that goes into long excursions is half the fun, you can hire an outfitter to fly you into a remote area for a week (or two) on end!

However you thrive in the summertime, Sunset Country has the getaway you desire. Adventures range from fly-in, boat-in, and drive-in; you can even pick your own "portage-in" options.

This region and all of its breathtaking beauty are yours to discover, and you never have to worry about crowds if you don't want to. Share your vacation with who you want to, and that's that, even if it's just yourself!
